BATAAN MEMORIAL DEATH MARCH
25 MARCH 2012
The Bataan Memorial Death March is a challenging march through the high desert terrain of White Sands Missile Range, conducted in honor of the heroic service members who defended the Philippine Islands during WWII, sacrificing their freedom, health and, in many cases their very lives.
Cadet training will begin in the fall, check with school HQ for details. In addition to bragging rights of having participated in this tremendous event, Cadets that complete the course receive, and are authorized to wear as part of their school uniform, an actual USS BATAAN belt buckle. Cadets that complete the march a second time will receive a brass buckle to wear as a Midshipman or Officer.
We need parents to assist with transportation and other support for the weekend event - such as, RVs and some food prep at White Sands. Sign-up sheet is posted in Headquarters. GO, SEA LIONS!
